About me

With a great interest in traditional wooden structures, I trained as a cabinetmaker in 1992. I worked for ten years as a self-employed person in Germany. The carpentry craft gave me a taste for more and was an important contribution to my education as an architect at the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam. The college's philosophy is to return the architect to his origins as a holistic builder. I share the philosophy. The physical environment affects us and reflects the changes and circumstances that take place. I feel privileged as an architect to be allowed to take part in the design of these. That is why I am also responsible for the environment and society. To accommodate the future, I have a strong focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions, and also try to go non-conventional paths in solar, water, wind and bioenergy, construction methods and materials. Depending on the customer's wishes and willingness.

Today's profane architecture is largely about making nice packaging to stack as many people as possible in the smallest possible area for the best economic return. Living quality is reduced to the minimum standard, the materials and constructions must last just 20-25 years before major repairs start and recycling plans must sell a green conscience. By looking back to the builder of the past, its architectural philosophy and material knowledge, it is certainly possible to create dignified buildings that last, when one understands and is willing to learn from this knowledge.

When I stand in front of the finished project, walk through the rooms and hand over the work to the client, I will be able to be proud of the result. Be confident that everyone involved has delivered good, professional craftsmanship and the goal has been achieved.
